Itaca Project: Pisamover in the map of accessible itineraries
July 9, 2018 – Pisamover has been included in the Itaca (Accessible and Open Tourist Routes) European Cooperation Project, led by the Società della Salute of Pisa with the purpose of mapping the tourist, cultural and accommodation facilities accessible to all citizens, in particular to people with disabilities. Together with other public and private facilities of the city, Pisamover has been tested according to criteria and evaluation forms drawn up by Handy Superabile, the certification authority , and has been included in the on-line map of the “accessible” tourist itineraries. The web map is available at www.itacaturismoaccessibile.it, and offers detailed information on the infrastructures analyzed. In particular, for Pisamover the routes are well explained, from the car parks, to the shuttle, to the terminal stations of the airport and railways, also thanks to the support of a video showing the accessibility for people using wheelchairs or blind people.
The Itaca project, which is part of the European Regional Development Fund ‘Interreg Italia Francia Marittimo’ program, is continuing its work in the other coastal provinces of Tuscany, Liguria, Sardinia, Corsica and the Côte d’Azur, with the main objective of enhancing an innovative and sustainable tourism and create a cross-border common tourism brand for accessible hospitality.
